LaRea (Gotzinger) Bernard
LaRea (Gotzinger) Bernard was born May 9,1932 to Firmin and LaVon Gotzinger at Fiddle Creek south of Riggins.
LaRea was raised on the Cross O Ranch in Pollock and attended school in Riggins.
In 1950, LaRea was honored as the 3rd annual Riggins Rodeo Queens Court with granddaughter, Amy Wilson,
reigning as JR Queen over the same event 40 years later.LaRea married Ron Bernard and they have 4 children.
Dave Wilson of Pollock - Aaron Wilson of Rapid River - Ronaine Kinard and Terri Smith both of Pierce.
They have 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren that they enjoy very much.
Ronnie and LaRea moved from Riggins to Pierce in 1967. After many years of employment at Jaype Mill,
LaRea retired in 1987.Since retirement Ronnie and LaRea have spent the winters in Yuma, AZ.
and the remainder of their time between Riggins, Pierce and camping on the lovely LaRea feels honored to be named,
Grand Marshall of this special event following her father, Firmin, serving as Grand Marshall in 1986
and her mother, LaVon serving as the Grand Marshall in 2006.
